Amanda Aldridge (1866–1956) was a British classical musician, singer, and composer. Born in London, she was the daughter of the African American baritone, composer, and violinist, William Henry Aldridge, and the English soprano, Augusta Reubena Holmès. She began her musical studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London and went on to become a celebrated mezzo-soprano and contralto, performing with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and throughout Europe. 

Aldridge was a passionate advocate for the advancement of African-American music and was the first black woman to have a musical composition published in England. She composed several operas, including The Martyr of Antioch, and her works demonstrate her unique blend of European, African, and American musical influences. 

In addition to her musical accomplishments, Aldridge was an outspoken advocate for civil rights and racial equality. She was part of a group of British artists and intellectuals who formed the League for the Advancement of Colored People in London and was a vocal opponent of racial discrimination and segregation. Amanda Aldridge was a talented and pioneering musician and composer, and her legacy lives on in music.
